How to Schedule a Pickup With USPS or UPS?

Next to the laptop are stacked shipping boxes labeled for Priority Mail and UPS Ground, while USPS and UPS delivery trucks drive by outside the window.

Skip the Line: How to Schedule a Carrier Pickup

Selling your laptop online is a great way to make extra cash, but finding time to drop off a package at the post office or UPS store can be a hassle.

Thankfully, both UPS and USPS offer scheduled carrier pickups. The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) even provides this service free of charge for specific mail classes. Below, you will find instructions on how to schedule a pickup so you can sell your device without ever leaving your home or office.

Option 1: USPS Pickup (Free & Recommended)

If you are using the free shipping label provided by CanItCash, you are using USPS Priority Mail, which qualifies for free pickup during your carrier’s regular route.

  1. Go to the Source: Visit usps.com/pickup.

  2. Check Availability: Enter your name, address, phone number, and email. Click Check Availability.

  3. Safety Checks: The system will confirm if pickups are available in your area and ask if there is a dog at the address.

  4. Package Location: Select exactly where you will leave the package (e.g., “Front Door,” “Knock on Door/Ring Bell”).

    • Note: Please choose a location that is safe and hidden from street view. Neither CanItCash LLC nor USPS is liable if your package is stolen before the carrier picks it up.

  5. Schedule the Time: Select “During Regular Mail Delivery” for the free option. You can pay extra for a specific time window, but it is usually unnecessary.

  6. Package Details:

    • Select the day you want the pickup.

    • Enter the number of packages.

    • Select Priority Mail as the package type (this matches the label we provide).

    • Estimate the total weight (rounding up to the nearest pound is fine; your label is already prepaid based on the weight we anticipate).

  7. Confirm: Agree to the Terms & Conditions and submit.

Option 2: UPS On-Call Pickup (Paid Service)

If you prefer to use UPS, please note that UPS charges a fee for scheduled pickups, even if you have a prepaid shipping label from us.

Tip: If you want a 100% free pickup, please choose USPS during the checkout process when getting your quote on CanItCash.com.

  1. Go to the Source: Visit the UPS Schedule a Pickup page HERE.

  2. Label Info: The site will ask if you have pre-printed shipping labels.

    • Select Yes.

    • Note: If you do not have a printer, message us via your Order Details page and we will mail a label to you.

  3. Tracking & Payment: You can enter your tracking number to check if pickup fees are covered.

    • Important: At this time, CanItCash prepaid labels do not cover the UPS pickup fee. You will need to pay for the pickup service separately during this process.

  4. Location & Details: Enter your address, phone number, and pickup location (e.g., Front Door, Side Door).

    • As with USPS, please ensure the location is secure. CanItCash LLC and UPS are not liable for packages lost or stolen prior to pickup.

  5. Service Details:

    • Select UPS Ground (this is the service we use).

    • Select the number of packages.

    • Select “No” for “Does your pickup contain…” (unless applicable).

  6. Time & Payment: Choose your date and preferred time window. You will then be prompted to enter your payment information (credit card or PayPal) to cover the pickup fee.
